THE PARAGRAPH


PARAGRAPH:
A paragraph is a unit of speech in a written text that expresses an idea or an argument, or reproduces the words of a speaker. It consists of a set of sentences that have some thematic unity or that without one, are set together. It is a component of the text in its appearance begins with a capital letter and ends at a stop. It includes several related sentences on the same sub, one of which expresses the main idea.
    The three main parts of a paragraph:
v  Topic sentence
v  Details
v  Conclusions
IDENTIFY SOME CHARACTERISTICS OF THE TOPIC SENTENCE.
Sets out the essential part of which everything else depends. the main clause has an essential meaning of the paragraph. The topic sentence may appear in the text implicitly or explicitly. When the main clause is implicit, it is not listed in paragraph writing and must be deduced. Instead, we find the explicit written itself and we can find the beginning, middle or end of the paragraph.
IDENTIFY SOME CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SUPPORTING SENTENCES.
Develop the topic sentence. That is, they explain or prove the topic sentence by giving more information about it.
IDENTIFY SOME CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CONCLUDING SENTENCE.
Signals the end of the paragraph and leaves the reader with important points to remember.

Write one topic sentence for each of the following topics:

YOUR HOMETOWN

The customs of the town are based on values, they are friendly people and like to help at the others.
A PLACE YOU WOULD LIKE TO TRAVEL TO.
CANADA: As one of the most developed countries, has a diversified economy, which makes it independent for their large deposits and abundant natural resources and trade, particularly with the United States
EXTREME SPORT
An extreme sport (also called freesport, action sport, and adventure sport) is a popular term for certain activities perceived as having a high level of inherent danger. These activities often involve speed, height, a high level of physical exertion, and highly specialized gear or spectacular stunts.
